Once there was an old man, and an old woman lived with him. They had neither a son nor a daughter; their only livestock was one sharp-snouted pig. The pig took to slipping out of the yard through the back gate. The devil must have sent her straight into someone else's strip of oats.

A wolf came running up and fell silent: he caught the pig by her bristles, dragged her beyond the fence and tore her apart. And that was the end of the tale.
