There was a family whose youngest son was quiet and kind. His older brothers thought they were the ones who could do great things, and left him only simple errands. One day, the young man went into the forest and met an elderly traveller. He shared his bread and apple with him, and the traveller taught him to build a ship from trees that had fallen in a storm.

When the last plank was in place, the ship rose gently above the clearing. The young man steered it towards the capital, inviting anyone along the way who wished to fly with him. Swiftfoot, the attentive Keen-Ear, a sharp-eyed guide, a master of cool winds and a skilled carpenter came aboard. There was a cabin, a task and a kind word for everyone.

The capital was holding a Festival of Crafts. The ruler announced several team challenges: bring clear spring water before the bell rang, steer a ship between the clouds, set a long table for the guests and cool a pavilion warmed by the sun. The flying ship’s crew decided to take part to show how their different abilities could help one another.

Keen-Ear heard a distant spring, Swiftfoot quickly brought back water, and the sharp-eyed guide found a safe passage through the clouds. The carpenter put together a festive table, the young man spread the tablecloths, and everyone helped arrange the food. When the pavilion grew hot, the master of cool winds sent fresh air into it. Every challenge was completed just in time.

The ruler praised the whole crew, not just the captain, and gave the friends a map of good deeds. From then on, the flying ship delivered books, seeds, letters and useful tools to distant villages. When the youngest son returned home, he introduced his family to his team. His brothers understood that true skill begins with respect, and that the highest flight is possible when everyone aboard is valued.
